When I arrived at CARE from a shelter in Missouri, I was nervous, shy, and scared and would hide under the bed in my kennel. But the staff and volunteers were very patient with me, and my confidence quickly grew. After a couple days of watching food preparation and cleaning but not really interacting too much with people, I was seeking human attention, walking happily on a leash, and rolling in the grass. I began sleeping on-not under-my bed and discovered the joy of playing with toys, especially the soft ones that have stuffies within stuffies. I've also gotten hooked on treats of Trader Joe's salmon skins (ever so yummy). Talk about a transformation! I'm almost there when it comes to potty training, and I don't mind going in my crate. My socialization skills are improving daily, and everyone here agrees I'll make a great family dog, good with kids of all ages. Of course, they say I'd be equally terrific in the home of a single person or couple. So what do you think-is a meet and greet in our future? If so, please fill outan adoption application ASAP.
