My Story

This is a courtesy listing: Breed - Appears to be Yorkie/Manchester Terrier mix Weight/Age – 10lbs but a bit thin / Vet said not a puppy but young Name - Peanut Vaccinated? – Scheduled Spayed/Neutered? - Scheduled Microchipped? - Scheduled Any health issues – Not that I know of. She appears healthy and happy. Solid BM’s, eats good, no injuries, good coat condition. Why does he/she need a new home – Teenage boys gave her to me after I found her running down my busy street. Said their friend gave her to them so that he wouldn’t take her to the pound. Temperment – She’s very sweet but a bit timid at first. Vet said it looks like she wants to be friendly but hasn’t been socialized very well. Once she warms up to you she is SUPER sweet and really wants to bond with someone, be loved and PLAY! She appears to potty trained and has not had an accident in my house since yesterday afternoon. She has been in my bathrooms since yesterday and has not caused any trouble. She just lays on her bed and chews her Kong. Personality – She seems young and is very active. She jumps and gets very excited when she greets you but does seem to have some manners and does listen. She gets timid when new people approach her and doesn’t want them to touch her. If you don’t approach her though, she will come up to you and will gradually warm up. She doesn’t seem to fear anything accept being approached. She’s fine with loud sounds (like the blow dryer) and riding in my car was great. She is a very good girl and really wants to please. I think she could be trained very easily as she seems to be very receptive and very smart. Ok with other dogs, cats, kids, farm animals? – She likes my Boxer a lot and wants to play with her. She shows no signs of aggression towards my Boston even though my Boston hates her. It seems like she’s been socialized around other dogs in her past and she has good doggie manners. She gets super excited and play bows when she see’s my Boxer. She wiggles all around and very much wants to play – it’s so cute. She gave a couple barks when she came face to face with my cat (through the x-pen) but listened to me when I told her “no” and stopped barking immediately. She was very curious though. I have not had her in a room unleashed with the cat and think she may give chase if nobody is watching. Looks like she could be trained not to go for the cat but doesn’t appear she’s been around them at all – good thing is there is no aggression that I’ve seen. I think she would be best without small kids. She is small and is a bit timid at first. She doesn’t seem to like new people grabbing at her – she gets a bit defensive - especially when she’s being held. That may change once she’s comfortable in her environment though. All in all, she’s a great little dog and I think she’ll be a wonderful pet for someone.
