X Urgent- Please help us find a good home or foster and rescue for beautiful Pearl, a sweet cream chow girl asap. Her owner had to go into the hospital long term and thus surrendered her to the shelter she was adopted from in 2022.
This remote Sierra Vista Shelter (southeast of Tucson) is asking for help as they have no room and she is currently in temporary boarding only.
While she is not currently at risk for euthanasia, the shelter unfortunately does have to euthanize dogs at times when they cannot get to healthy population, so please help us find her placement. Plus, living in a kennel is no life for a dog her age.
Pearl’s most recent home reported to the shelter she is calm, laid back, not very active, sleeps, and has no aggression issues, or issues with other dogs. He also reported she was seen by a vet in June of last year with a clean bill of health, and was groomed frequently.
Pearl has been shaved recently due to the heat, but her fur will grow back in shortly. When she was at the shelter in 2022, we were told she can be a little shy at first but is a love bug once she trusts you.
We have video from then showing her enjoying to be pet and playing with a male dog. While Pearl has been fine with some dogs, if you have another dog, a meet and greet would be recommended, or a slower intro since she may or may not be dog selective.
The shelter believes Pearl is now about 7.5 years old.
She is spayed, and ready to go home. Some transport by volunteers may be available for homes as far as Phoenix. Farther adopters would need to either come in person, or we could try to connect you to a rescue group to possibly foster to adopt through.
For adoption inquiries, or rescue interest, please contact the shelter asap at 520-458-4151 and
[email protected].
To foster or foster to adopt through a rescue group and/or farther away, or have additional questions or assistance though, please contact
[email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist the shelter with her placement.
