Penelope

Penelope is gentle, loving and extremely intelligent 1 year old. When she first came to us she was very shy and afraid of human interaction but over time has learned to trust and seeks out attention as much as she possibly can. Penelope is really good at staying around even off leash and listens very well. She learns super quick and is so smart, she will show the other dogs what to do or not to do. She corrals them away from the gate when someone enters, her intelligence is fascinating. Once she trusts you, she is your loyal buddy for life. She has so much unconditional love to give. She is very patient when it comes to food and treats and will always wait her turn. She loves toys and playing with the other dogs. She is very submissive when it comes to other dogs showing dominance. She can be scared upon first meetings so she will require a few visits from interested adopters prior to going to her new home. She has so much love and loyalty to give she just needs a family with patience and unconditional love to give back to show her it's Ok to have fun and be a dog. She had a rough start in the south but since being rescued and in Vermont, she has blossomed into the sweetest girl with such a fun personality.
