Penelope

Penelope, often referred to as Miss P in the shelter, is a pretty, sweet girl waiting for her forever home. Penelope has beautiful features including her tan coat, black snout, giant floppy ears, straight white teeth, and expressive eyes. She is bound to make you fall in love with her before you even meet her. Penelope loves going for walks, playing, and spending time outside. She walks great on a leash, often stopping for some sniffing, and is generally a curious girl. She also would not mind spending some time laying right beside you, or even on your lap. She is the perfect lap dog, as she will just stretch right out and make herself comfortable on your lap. She also gives the best kisses, and will give lots of them if given the chance. Penelope is also very easy to travel with, as she does great in the car! Penelope is definitely treat-motivated, and you can get her to do (or stop doing) almost anything by pulling out a bag of treats. She will always sit and occasionally lay down when asked. Penelope also loves playing with toys, although fetch may not be her thing. She will typically grab a toy and just lay with it and nibble on it (her favorite toy at the shelter is a stuffed animal unicorn). Penelope recently had CCL (canine ACL) repair surgery and has healed beautifully (and modeled her adorable pink recovery pajamas [see picture]) . She currently takes some anxiety medications as being in the shelter and not having a stable home has given her a great deal of stress. She was in a foster home to recover from her surgery and her foster mom says, "Penelope is a fantastic and loving dog that just wants to be your best bud the second you meet her. She constantly wants to be on your lap, licking your face, or playing outside. As Penelope's medical foster, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this dog." Penelope is up to date on all vaccines, is spayed, and is ready to be your best friend! Please inquire about a possible foster to adopt!
