We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Penelope, 4 year old spayed female, Rottweiler/labrador mix, 57 pounds. Penelope is in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Penelope is as sweet as you would expect a lady to be - she loves showing you her belly and play bows to friends, and is very submissive. She lives in a foster home with a large senior female dog and she really enjoys engaging her in play. She has a silly habit of chomping at the air when she's feeling goofy and it's quite endearing, as if she needed any more charm! She has never shown any signs of aggression or standoffishness while in foster care to humans or dogs alike. She is playful but can be mellow and a couch potato, and she LOVES to follow you around. She's a built in best friend and guide for navigating your own house! She loves toys and will bring one to you when you come home from work, proud of all the things she now gets to call her own. She is a people pleaser and thrives on praise and affection. We have no history with small dogs, cats or kids but generally do not expect there to be any issues with her behavior. As a standard rule, we recommend homes with kids over the age of 10yrs or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues. Penelope is getting better on her leash when going for walks. She loves a schedule and is fed in her kennel and let her out when the resident dog is done eating. Penelope is a great environmental steward and always makes sure that her foster sister ate all her food! She is crate trained and potty trained. She would do best in a home with another dog that has the same energy as her. Penelope could also be an only dog if her adopters enjoy taking time to play with her and spend time with her. She would do best with a yard so she can run around as she loves to show you her zoomies. Penelope is the sweetest dog and deserves a home where she could be for the rest of her days!
