Hey there, everyone! I'm Penelope, a sweet, gentle, friendly 42-pound Black Labrador mix gal with a white locket who was born July 2023. Just call me easy-to-please because I get along with everybody -- humans of all ages, including kids -- as well as other dogs. True confessions: I'm initially shy when I first meet you, but once I warm up, I'm all yours! Remember that the sweet-faced, lovable Labrador Retriever is America's most popular dog breed. We're outgoing and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family looking for a medium-sized dog. Like most labs, expect me to be a very loving, companionable housemate who bonds with the whole family as well as who socializes well with neighbor dogs and hoomans alike. But don't mistake my easygoing personality for low energy: labs are enthusiastic athletes who require regular exercise to keep us physically and mentally fit. I'd do best in a home with an active family who will take me out for long walks, jogging, or marathon games of fetch at the dog park. You’ll get bonus points if you have a pool! A Good Samaritan found me on the mean streets of Houston as a puppy trying to live paw-to-mouth. Fortunately my rescuer contacted Miss Donna to find me a fantastic home.
