My Story

Meet Penny! Penny came into our care at HSCC when her guardian was moving and could not take her along. A spunky girl with lots of personality, this brindle beauty will be an amazing companion for a lucky adopter! Penny is an athletic dog who loves all things TENNIS BALL! Hesitant to share her favorite balls and toys, a potential adopter will need to be aware of how Penny prefers to play! We will discuss Penny's individual needs with those interested in potentially bringing this gorgeous girl into their lives! That being said, Penny will thrive with an active adopter who is excited to take her along on their outdoor adventures: swimming, hiking, car rides, play time, walks on the pier - Penny is down for it all! Searching for a special lady like Penny? Come meet her at HSCC and see if she could be your new best friend! Dogs: Penny is generally tolerant of dogs but would like to be the only dog in her domain! Cats: Penny should not go to a home with feline friends! Children: We have no history about Penny with children. Due to her intense play style, she is looking for a home with teens and adults. Type: Working Wingman Dog You'll fall in love with this dog because they may be: Wingman - Ready for any mission, will not rest as long as there is an adventure to be had Attentive - Keenly aware of their environment, their partner's emotions and instructions Responsible - Thrives with rules, routines, work and games You might find this dog difficult to live with because they may be: Bossy - Here to establish law and order by managing the living room, neighborhood and park Workaholic - Mental and physical ambition can be overwhelming at times Clingy - Their otherwise adorable person-focus can be a little on the unhealthy side (Credit: L.E.G.S: Learning, Environment, Genetics, Self - Kim Brophey)
