My Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Pepper is sweet and loyal companion in need of a forever family. She is a gentle soul who adores her current furry friend, a toy poodle with whom she shares a harmonious relationship. Despite their size difference, they play well together and enjoy each other's company. Sometimes beguiling, sometimes impish, Pepper is alert and high-energy early in the day. She loves being outdoors and is fascinated by all the neighboring sites and sounds, and indoors she is a curious, sweet, and attention to her people. She enjoys the company of other dogs (she has no history with cats). She is pleasant and well-mannered and would fit well in any home or environment.
While Pepper is fantastic with female children and adults, she has shown some discomfort around male children and certain adult males. She can be anxious and submissive around strangers, particularly men, but she warms up quickly to women, showering them with affection.
Pepper's loving nature shines through when she's comfortable. She's intelligent, affectionate, and enjoys playing with toys and balls. After a good play session, she's content to relax and snuggle up with her human companions. If you're a patient and understanding individual or family, Pepper could be the perfect addition to your home. She thrives in a female-led household and would make a devoted companion to the right person.
If you're interested in providing Pepper with a loving forever home, please submit an application. Let's find Pepper the loving family she deserves!
* This dog's adoption fee is $200Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/.
The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care.
Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we're happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you're looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy.
We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal's behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter.
CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract.
CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
