Percy

Meet Percy!! He's a senior poodle around 8 years old. Don't let his age fool you though, he's still got a lot of spunk inside of him. Percy came to the shelter as an owner turn in. We are not quite sure of the reasons why. It was probably the best thing for him. Percy was quickly taken to the vet for a full check up and we learned that he is losing his vision, has a treatable thyroid condition, and was anemic and had a low platelet count. At his check up, he showed wonderful signs of improvement in his bloodwork and was given the thumbs up to be neutered!! Percy is doing very well with housetraining. Since he is older, he isn't being crated but is baby-gated to the kitchen instead. He does very well with staying in the kitchen all day and knows to run straight to the back door when his foster mom gets home. Percy does do fine with other dogs, especially if they are less active. Given Percy cannot see that well, a home with no kids will be best for him. If he gets scared, his natural reaction is to nip.
