Percy is 11 years old. He is a yellow lab mix, neutered male.Percy has had an extremely sad life. His prior owners kept him outside. His only comforts were a toy and an old wooden dog house. Although his owners were aware that Percy had a heart condition he was left outside all day, every day, rain or snow, heat or cold. Percy's owners decided to chain him at the far end of the yard so the porch or area around the house would not get dirty. Percy was chained in the mud and dirt. The chain caused him to walk and stand in his own feces and urine. Percy's heart condition became worse and his owners did not follow up with their vet. Though they were advised by animal control to bring Percy in the house and to bring him to the vet, he was still left outside to die. Percy was finally surrendered to the shelter. His owners not willing to give him the care he needed and deserved. Percy is a great dog with a super personality. He is friendly and is very gentle. He is one of those dogs you can not help but love, when asked for a hug he puts his paws on your shoulders , gently kisses your face and then buries his head under your arm. He is such a darling boy. Percy has heart disease. He is on medication which he will need permanently. Do you have it in your heart to give this boy a nice quiet home to live out his senior years in comfort.
