My Story

Pete came to us in November as a very unsocialized, fearful dog. He was purchased during Covid when his owner was home full time and it was just the two of them. Once she went back to work, she no longer had time for him. Because of this, Pete would only bond with his primary caregiver and wanted nothing to do with anyone else. What a change! Pete has become a shy, but loving dog. He now out seeks attention, even from people he's just met. It still takes him a little time to fully relax and trust, but it does for me too, so I understand! He loves to cuddle and wants to sleep in bed next to me every night. He is a gentleman though, and will curl up into a tiny ball so he doesn't take up much space! He just wants to be close and know you are near. He loves the connection. Pete is doing great with the other dogs, even the new ones that have come in, and lives in perfect harmony with the cats. Well..maybe not "perfect", but he doesn't bother them. = ) Pete would love a home of his own. Even though he does well with all of the other dogs, he's definitely used to a quieter lifestyle where he gets more one-on-one attention, and that's exactly what he deserves.
