My Story

Day 91. Thank you Tiffany for your pictures of Petey who has had a very rough start to his stay at the Shelbyville Shelby County Animal Shelter. Petey has definitely bonded with our faithful volunteer and he loves to sit outside and wait for her and she took these fabulous pictures. We finally feel he is ready to find a loving family. He was relinquished in September due to a move. We wish him luck as he met a woman and flew to another country to be with her. Petey was lost without his person. He wasn't fond of any of us and his collar was rubbing his neck something awful. We contacted the daughter of the owner, and she was able to remove the collar. Days turned to weeks of Petey not really wanting much to do with any of us until he met Tiffany. Petey turns into a frisky puppy who wants to play ball when she is around. He listens to her and walks great on a leash. He was born March 11, 2019 and has never been vetted. He also had skin issues, but with great nutrition and flea meds, he is looking dapper. Petey is housebroken, is fine with children once het gets to know them, and I would say the same about adults. We don't think he was really socialized, it was just Petey and his human. Petey will make a great companion, to the right person, and would thrive in a calm environment. Since he was the only pet, we feel it would be best that it stays that way. If you wanted a loyal companion to snuggle with and make you feel safe, Petey is the dog. His foster to adopt fee has been waived. Come and meet Petey Monday through Thursday from 10:30 to 4:30 or until 4:00 on Friday. We have A LOT of dogs that need loving homes. Questions about our pets? Call the Shelbyville Shelby County Animal Shelter at 317-392-5127 or email [email protected]. Thank you for sharing and helping our doggos find love. Maybe day 92 will be his day. Stay safe and warm. God bless you, chris browder
