My Story

PETIE IS BEING FOSTERED IN CA, BUT WE ARE ACCEPTING ADOPTION APPLICATIONS NATIONWIDE. Meet Petie, a little munchkin of a dog that was part of Operation New Beginnings in MT. Small in stature, but big in potential, she is undersized for an ES due to malnutrition she likely suffered in her early life. She is only about 12-13 inches at the shoulder and weighs 26 pounds. Petie is considered 'special needs' because she is a very shy girl, never having the advantage of early socialization. She will need someone who is extremely patient and will work as hard as Petie is to overcome obstacles. Petie may be small but she is making big steps daily to learn more about the life a good pet deserves. She loves to lay on a blanket in the house. She has been untested with cats and, at this time, we do not recommend her for a home with small children who might not understand how shy Petie is. Miss Petie would likely do well with a gentle older dog from whom she could model behavior...maybe a 'big sis'. While waiting out her time in a kennel, Petie was often seen trotting behind such a dog and gained confidence being in her company. If you think you could help this little girl bloom into the dog she is meant to be, please contact us via e-mail and use the dog's name in the subject line. All potential adopters will be asked to complete an adoption application which can be found on our website (www.nesr.info).
