Phoebe (Photos 6/4/2024)

Phoebe is an adorable one-year old (possible) Boxer/Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV late in the afternoon on June 4, 2024 by Good Samaritans who found her on State Route 26 in Washington County Ohio (near Bloomfield Ohio) along with her older companion (Monica). Neither of the girls were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped. Phoebe has a sleek black short smooth coat with a white 'lightning bolt' on her chest, a long tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose on her cute muzzle, and semi-erect ears. Phoebe and her best friend Monica were understandably nervous when they found themselves in an unfamiliar place and couldn't understand what on earth was happening. Thanks to HSOV Executive Director Amy Rogers and Tracy Lynn Moore and our shelter staff who worked together to help these sweet dogs relax and know that they were already loved by them. Phoebe weighs 42 lbs. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Phoebe (and Monica) were held for three days so that their family would have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. Sadly, nobody called or came looking for these girls. These preliminary photos were taken on June 4, 2024 when Phoebe and Monica entered our shelter. We look forward to taking more flattering pictures of these beautiful girls when they are ready to accompany kennel techs/volunteers for outdoor 'glamour shots' on a bright sunny day in the green grass to show off their true beauty.
