Pilsner

Pilsner is a male puppy in the “beer litter” that also includes brothers Porter and Lager and their sister Ninkasi. This litter are Labrador Retriever/Poodle mixes aka Labradoodles. Their approximate birthdate is 11/30/22. They ended up in a shelter when the backyard breeder dumped the four of them. You will notice in their pictures that that person cut their tails off when they were born—they are not natural bobtails. Lager and his siblings are loads of fun and lots of energy! They have Labrador qualities: they love to play in water, chew toys, chase balls and are very loving. They have exhibited the Poodle qualities of high intelligence and cleverness. They learned how to scale up the sides of the exer-pen at 10 weeks old! Pilsner will need a home that finds his bold nature endearing. He is very mouthy and everything he can chomp on goes there. Pilsner likes to climb up into your lap and give you lots of kisses for short periods of time but he is happier running and playing. His new family will need to be patient training him to find appropriate things to chew. Pilsner currently weighs 50#. He is a bit more quiet than his brother Lager. All dogs have been altered, are up to date on dhpp, bordetella, rabies, microchip, and are on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. When thinking about adopting a young dog please consider how it will change your life. You are making a potentially 10-15 year commitment. You must have a home environment in which the dog will not be home alone more than 4 hours a day total. Due to the breed mix of this puppy we are requiring a fenced in yard. If your life is conducive to a pair of dogs, we will consider those applications. You must be committed to learning how to positively interact with and train your dog. These dogs have been raised in a foster home with a pack of dogs so they will continue to need to be socialized with other dogs so that they know how to behave when they encounter other dogs. These pups are used to sleeping with their littermates, so there will be an adjustment period regarding their sleep schedule. These pups have been in a foster home with adult dogs of all ages and cats. Porter will need a lot of love and attention and cannot be crated as a convenience for you. Young dogs should never be crated more than a total of 7 hours within a 24-hour period. You may have to take them out in the middle of the night. Dogs must be taken out on a regular schedule..sun, rain, sleet or snow. They require lots of play time and exercise. You may have to clean up messes. Due to the breed mix these dogs like to chew..it is how they explore their world so your family will need to be diligent about keeping things that you don't want chewed up put away (phones, remotes, shoes, electrical cords, toys, dolls, legos etc). This puppy is what we consider "mouth oriented" due the Labrador in their breed mix--this means they are particularly motivated to chew so you will need to provide plenty of productive chewing toys for them. It also means that they may "mouth" their humans so there should be no children in the home under the age of 8 years old. Having a Labrador mix is a wonderful experience if you are prepared.
