This is Pintas, we were asked to help this girl. The finder had been feeding her for a while trying to get her help and off the mean streets of RGV (Rio Grande Valley) where very bad things happen to animals all the time. She didn't have any luck and one day about 2 mos ago the finder went outside to feed Pintas and found that she couldn't walk or stand up. Pintas was hit by a car and left on the side of the road like trash in severe pain and to die alone. Pintas finder rushed her to the vet where we then learned that pintas had a fractured pelvis. We also learned at that time that Pintas was heartworm positive. She had to wait until she healed to be spayed. She will be scheduled in the coming week. Once she heals from spay surgery she will then start heartworm treatment. Puntas has made such stride and progress when the vets didn't have much hope for a 100% recovery. Pintas now can run, jump and play. Something the vet didn't expect to happen. They said that she would need surgery but Pintas proved them all wrong.
