My Story

Loyal and loving companion She loves to cuddle up on the couch, she is great while I work from home. She has great recall when at the dog park. Piper is high energy and would need an active home. Piper is shy of new people outside of the home but becomes a social butterfly when she meets new people inside a home. Recently she has been working on her shyness by sleepovers and roadtrips and it is working! And she was great on the long road trip by the way. She is a quick learner and is food motivated. Piper was found dumped at our dog park wearing a chain collar 2 sizes too small directly carabiner clipped to the fence over night. She was underweight and showed signs of neglect. So she's shy of new people but once she knows you as her person Piper is a complete lap dog. If anything scares her she will come running to her person. When working from home she loves to put her head on my lap and sleep while I work. Her favorite toy is a ball and chews on her chew toy to get out energy before bed. We continuing to try and build her confidence and working on leash training. She's come a long way. Only needs meds for anxiety before vet appointments. We continue to work with her on separation anxiety and received training at K9 PhD. For whom ever adopts her 1 free training lesson at canine PhD will be provided. Loves to ride in the car but prefers the front passenger seat. She knows commands, Sit, stay, will wait until you place food down until release command, shake, lay down is in the works Age: 2 years old approx Weight: 50 lb Temperament: Good with dogs and kids. Training: Crate-trained, house trained, knows commands, NO, SIT and CRATE Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative. For questions about Piper, please email: [email protected] To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.
