My Story

Meet Pippa: Your New Adventure Buddy! Pippa, a charming mix breed of possible Border Collie and Yellow Lab, started her life in the remote hamlet of Kimmirut, Nunavut. Alongside her sister Kate, Pippa had to fend for herself in the wild, facing many risks. Despite these challenges, Pippa's resilience and affectionate nature have shone through. Pippa and Kate's early days were tough; they lived outside, running free and hanging around the local school. Thankfully, caring teachers and community members stepped in to feed them, ensuring they had the basics to survive. When Vets Without Borders visited in February, their mom was spayed, but unfortunately, the pups couldn't leave with them. With the teachers leaving for summer, Pippa and Kate’s situation grew more precarious. However, a stroke of luck changed their fate. The pups were rescued and traveled to Iqaluit, where Nunavut Animal Rescue (Iqaluit Humane Society) provided them with a safe and loving environment. Eventually, Pippa and Kate made their way to a foster home in Ontario, where they have been thriving ever since. Pippa is a delightful puppy, full of fun and mischief. Her playful antics and boundless energy make her a joy to be around. Despite her challenging start, she has remained incredibly affectionate and happy. Her resilience is evident in her healthy condition, even though she didn't always have consistent access to food. Now in her foster home, Pippa has learned the comfort of having enough to eat and has become even more loving and content. Pippa would thrive in an active home that can match her energetic and playful nature. Her mixed breed heritage gives her a combination of intelligence, agility, and a loving disposition, making her a perfect companion for someone looking for an adventurous and affectionate dog. A home with another dog would be great, as Pippa enjoys canine company, but she would also do well as the center of attention in a single-pet household. Adopting Pippa means bringing home a puppy who is not just a survivor, but a loving and joyful companion. Her journey from the harsh conditions of Kimmirut to the safety and love of her foster home in Ontario has shaped her into a resilient and affectionate dog. Pippa's playful spirit and loving heart make her a wonderful addition to any family. If Pippa sounds like the perfect fit for your family, contact us to set up a phone call and them come meet her! She’s ready to find her forever home and can't wait to meet her new family.
