My Story

I am currently enrolled in our Paws-in-Prison program. This means that you can apply for me now, but I will not be ready until I complete all of my obedience training. My graduation should be sometime in October. You may apply now, but I will not be ready to go until then. How about my zany, wacky trick ears!!! lol- Most of the time, they're down, but when I get excited, they stick out in all kinds of hilarious positions! I'm the definition of a happy-go-lucky pup! I'm a mixed bag of joy-funny, sweet, snuggly, and bursting with love to give! Now, a fair warning: I have a really hard time controlling my licker! I love giving kisses-LOTS of them. If you're not a fan of doggie smooches, I might not be your perfect match! The official word is that I'm housetrained, but to be honest, I'm more of a doggie door expert. I'm used to having a personal exit to the great outdoors whenever nature calls. So, I'll need a little time to get the hang of "holding it and signaling you when I need a potty break. The upside? I've already mastered the art of going outside on my own, so it should be a smooth transition. I currently share my home with a diverse crew of dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments, and I get along great with all of them. I also live with cats. I might annoy them sometimes by trying to get them to play, but I promise, I never hurt them! I'm a playful pup who thrives on doggie companionship. Most of my day is spent zooming around and playing in my fenced yard. Before filling out an application, please consider the breed characteristics, my puppy antics, and how big I'll get when fully grown.. -I need exercise, play time, mental enrichment time NOT confined to tons of crate time! -I need quality time spent with them to learn their proper manners, obedience training, house training and LOTS of time to properly socialize them. -I have had a rough start to life and need the best home possible for me to learn about love and loyalty. -We only place our dogs and puppies into home that meet "their needs. Our dogs are fully vetted. This includes spay or neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, rabies, microchipped, Heartworm and Lyme tested, worming, flea treatments, Heartworm prevention started, and any other medical care needed. Foster to adopt dogs, simply means they live with you while receiving their care. Then you adopt once ready for adoption. Our adoption fee also includes 6-week group obedience class (value $125.) If adopting a puppy under age we cover spay/neuter at 6 months. Paws In Prison dogs will not be ready for their new families until they complete their training program.
