My Story

Hi, I’m Pixie. Let me tell you a little about me. I came to PugHearts after being found walking around with my eye bleeding. I was cleaned up, fed, and given a warm place to sleep the night. I was taken to Sugarland Pet Hospital the next morning and had a check up got some meds and surgery to remove both my eyes. Not being able to see was very scary, but now I’m getting used to it. I’m getting around great as my FoMo says. I love to play with toys. I especially love the ones that squeak when I chew on them. Being blind does not slow me down at all. I still can find the toys. I know where my eating area is and can find it with no problem. I walk around just like any other pug. I am not sure how old I am, but I’m told I’m about 3 yrs old. Im a small girl weighing in around 12 pounds. I am good with all the other pugs here and do like to snuggle in a soft, comfortable dog bed with one or more of the other pugs here. I’m learning to sit with my FoMa and FoPa and to be held. I really like it but it’s a little scary because I can’t see where the ground is, but I’m getting better at it. I do have heartworm, not sure what that is , but FoMo tells me I will have treatments to get rid of them. After that I will be ready to go to my forever home. FoMo wants me to tell you that blind pugs are the same as any other pug, but we just can’t see. So don’t be afraid of adopting me. I will learn my way around, and FoMo says I learn fast and that I am just an amazing little Pixie.
