Hi friends! I'm Pookie! I'm the hap-hap-happiest sweetheart! I brighten everyone's day at the shelter so I know I can brighten yours. And, if you think about it, you can brighten mine, too, by giving me a loving home. I am here to put that silly myth about lap dogs only being small dogs to rest...because I believe that there is no weight or size limit on how close snuggles can be. When asked to do so, I will climb right up onto your lap. If you don't prefer super close snuggles, I'm a polite lady and will keep all four of my little feet on the ground when asked to do so, as well. I'm a bit under 60-pounds, so I really am at a perfect medium-sized weight! I love to have fun and play. Chasing tennis balls is a great way to pass time. I also love treats so I'm sure I'd be a great snuffle-matter! (Snufflemats are super fun enrichment toys, if you've never heard of them!) So, yes, I love playing but I will always choose to be around people and interacting before I play. My human friends are introducing me to other dog friends and will let you know how I do. From what they've seen so far, they think that other resident dogs should be playful and energetic. I'd probably like a home without kitty friends or critters but I'll ask them to update soon.
