Popeye here! I’m not a sailor man, but I am sweet boy who loves to eat (I do like spinach too)! I am a 4 year old boy looking for a family to call my own. I have had a rough couple years but this rescue and my foster mom promised they would find my new family and I would be very loved soon! Could it be you? I was found as a stray dog in Boston back in January 2020 and was very stressed at animal control for a few months before the rescue helped me get out! I then found a wonderful foster dad who ended up adopting me! I was so lucky for over a year! Then my dad got sick and the rescue had to step in and help find a new home for me again. I was being fostered in the city for a little but that was too much for me and I was stressed, so now I have a great foster family in a quieter area right on the MA/NH line. I love my life here and we go on lots of walks and hikes when the weather allows. I have a four legged foster sister who I love to romp around the yard with and really love when Foster mom gives me fun puzzles and games to work for my meals! Foster mom says I’m very smart and need to play and work every day! I don’t have a lot of energy though, just a lot of drive to learn! I like to nap on the couch when Foster mom works from home and I’m always up for a snuggle under the covers at night while she catches up on shows. I am crate trained and sleep in my crate each night. I am completely housebroken and ride well in the car too! I walk nicely on leash with my training collar but I do like to “yell” when I see other doggies on walks. It’s stressful for me and foster mom thinks something must have happened that made me feel that way, but we work through it! I don’t “yell” at other dogs at the vet or in pet stores either, just in my neighborhood and on walks. Because of this, I’m looking for a somewhat savvy owner who will continue to work with me.
I am such a silly doggie and can’t wait to show you how smart I am! One of my most useful skills is getting the leash unstuck from between my legs on walks. I make it look so easy! I also do this funny thing that foster mom calls “crazy lay down” when I shove my head into the couch and throw my body upside down until I flop one way. You’ll have to earn my trust before you see that move, it’s for week 3 only! I would love a fenced in yard to romp in and I cannot live in a busy neighborhood or city environment. Living my best life would be a quiet area with people who love me, it’s that simple!
I’ve been waiting too long to find my forever family and it seems I keep getting dealt bad hands! Will you be my winning hand? Please adopt me!
