Hi! My name is Poppy!
I am about 4 months old and I weigh around 20 pounds. I am current on vaccines, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention.
My adorable face has caused me a lot of pain and suffering. When I came to my rescue I was having trouble breathing due to amongst other issues, my extremely stenotic nares. Brachycephalic dogs like myself often suffer greatly because people love our smooshed face look. Imagine working hard for every single breath you take- it’s awful! My rescue got me the help I needed emergently and my nares are, “tacked” so that they are more, “open” and I am able to breathe better. It’s made a tremendous difference in my quality of life and my energy level (which foster mom said is off the chart!). I will likely need more surgery to correct this issue and adopters will be required to bring us to a visit with a board certified surgeon (scheduled by my rescue) to evaluate our need for further surgical intervention between 6 and 8 months of age. The rescue will cover the cost of this evaluation and the surgery if deemed necessary. At that time I will be spayed/neutered as well. Our team of vets has advised that all procedures be completed at the same time since we are at a higher risk for anesthetic complications.
We are looking for adopters local to Mt. Pleasant, SC *ONLY* as we must be in close proximity to our veterinary team. Please list what, “nares” are in the, “anything else” section of the application.
My adoption fee is $495.
Please submit an application if you want to make me part of your family. We will not respond to inquiries.
Meet and greets are scheduled with approved adopters only!

Our adoption process consists of an application, and reference checks. We do home visits when a reference check is not enough. You must be at least 23 years old to apply to adopt.
Please fill out all fields as accurately as possible. We will not process incomplete applications.
Adoptions are made on a best home basis. If two excellent applications come in for the same dog, our policy is first in time, first in line. Our goal is to have the very best home for all our dogs. Our dogs are in private foster homes waiting to be adopted. Due to limited foster space, we are unable to hold an animal to be adopted out at a later time.
Please keep in mind that we do our best to make an educated guess as to the breeds of our rescued pets. In rescue we rarely see the parents of our dogs and puppies, and even when we do, they are usually mixed breeds as well.
We rely solely on adoption fees and donations to provide care for our rescued animals, many of whom have incurred medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The fees received act to help support the organization as a whole, allowing them to continue efforts to rescue animals.
