Poppy

Poppy is going to need someone willing to be patient with her, but your reward will be a loving, loyal, sweetheart of a companion. Poppy's about a year and half old and spent almost the whole first year of her life in a noisy shelter. This really affected her ability to trust and socialization. New people make her very nervous and often she retreats from them, but give her a chance to get to know you, and she gives the best hugs and sweetest kisses. She gets along well with other dogs, and loves to play but sometimes she has difficulty understanding cues from other dogs about when they've had enough. She would do best with another dog that could show her the ropes. Speaking of ropes, this lady LOVES toys, but beware, she will destroy a stuffed toy in seconds. She has the best time doing it, but there will be stuffing all over! She loves playing tug with rope toys, and playing in the water. She can be a little possessive when it comes to toys. One of her favorite toys also is her food bowl! When she finishes eating, she loves to smack around her bowl, pounce on it, and bark at it for the audacity of being empty.
