Princess Pixie

Pixie is a 2 years old 55 lb Black Lab mix. She is a sweet stray who had been waiting to be adopted at a Louisiana shelter for almost 9 months before she was rescued. Upon moving to foster care, we learned that Pixie is an absolute princess! She is housetrained, crate trained, lower energy, loves outside time, loves her balls, and enjoys car rides. Her personality and beauty are hard to capture in photos but check out her videos. Pixie is an extra special girl! Pixie's foster mom says, "Miss Pixie came to us as a temporary foster from a local shelter when we had some extremely harsh, frigid weather in January. All the dogs live in outdoor kennels there and Pixie was having a stressful time, so we continued our fostering to give her a chance to decompress, become very relaxed, and let her sweet personality come to life. And come to life it has! Pixie has got to be one of the sweetest, most loving pups we’ve seen. She came into our home and got comfortable immediately, with not one single accident in the house and being chill, whether it’s her kennel or the living room couch! Pixie loves chasing her tennis ball (sometimes multiple balls) and absolutely loves being outside, especially sitting on our hill and “surveying her kingdom.” Her morning routine is very laid back - takes a turn around the yard, comes back in, and may or may not eat then. She is a grazer, not a Hoover when it comes to eating! We’ve kept our son’s dog Simon a few times, and she has not shown to be food aggressive at all. Both are very polite and waited for the other to finish. Pixie also played beautifully with Simon, chasing each other enthusiastically and pretend wrestling with gusto. Pixie walks very well with a leash and harness and does well in the car. While she didn’t necessarily like other dogs getting close while on walks at the park, she responds well to commands.
