My Story

What we know about Pumpkin A006141: -2 yo - 40lbs - Female (spayed) - UTD on shots - On Flea/Tick and heartworm prevention -Microchipped -HW status- HW+ (easily treated by any vet. Has completed a month of doxy and currently on HW preventative (slow kill HW treatment) -Dog Tested- Not been tested but did come in with 6 other adult dogs and some of her puppies. So is likely dog friendly. A meet and greet is always recommended for any potential furry siblings. Dog tests can be done at request. -Cat Tested- Not been tested but can be done at request -Medium energy level. Loves to go on walks and get in the play yards to stretch her legs, but also loves to sunbathe and snuggle. -Came from a home previously that had kids, but I would recommend either going to a no kid household or 10+ kids. -Would do best in a semi calm home (will explain more below) Pumpkin was part of an animal cruelty case where it was speculated that the dogs were both physically abused and neglected. All the dogs from this case came to the shelter in rough physical shape and they were mentally shutting down. Pumpkin specifically had multiple puppies with her, one of which was special needs. Weve also been told that her other puppies were taken from her and she likely witnessed their deaths. She and the other dogs from this case are learning that all humans are not bad. She will need a home that is understanding of her past and is willing to work and love her through. Once Pumpkin warms up to people and is able to be herself she does the happiest prance! (Pumpkins- Intake date was: 12.1.23) If you think Pumpkin could be the perfect addition to your family, please call 912-554-7500, send an email [email protected], or visit 190 Carl Alexander Way, Brunswick, GA 31525. The shelter is open Tuesday-Saturday 12-5PM Sundays 1-4PM and are technically closed to the public on Mondays but are willing to work with people if needed.
