My Story

Quinn is a young and very handsome Rottweiler. His previous family were forced to place him into rescue due to financial reasons. Quinn grew up in a home with very young children and cats and gets along with dogs as well. Quinn is one year old and weighs 90 lbs so he is a very big boy already. Quinn is a big loveable baby BUT he is a "juvenile Rottie" and really likes to "push your buttons". He is typical of the breed, requiring a very STRONG, FAIR, BUT FIRM guardian. A home with Rottie experience is mandatory. Even though Quinn adores children, he is 90 lbs of puppy, so Quinn is most suitable for a home with older teenagers or a single/couple. Quinn is housetrained and fully vetted. Quinn is also crate trained. Quinn is well trained in the "sit, stand, down" type of commands BUT he needs more training with "knowing his place". His ISSUE is that he loves to grab the leash and enter a "tug of war" with his guardian, and can be very stubborn to let it go. He is extremely intelligent and knows if he is intimidating you to back off. If you are #1 and firm, he might try his tactic of jumping up and letting a growl go, but nothing else. If you hold firm, he will submit quickly. This is all about power and control. Quinn is NOT aggressive to people or a biter, far from it, this is his way of trying to be in control. Quinn is really a big baby and acts like a BRAT sometimes!! Quinn is very, very affectionate. I see a young dog with so much potential, as long as he has that strong person in his life. Rottweilers are not the breed for everyone, but they make wonderful family members, therapy dogs, trackers, are involved in agility and outdoor adventures like camping, hiking and canoeing, as well as pulling carts and sleds. Rottweilers are very devoted to their families, and are a versatile breed. Do you think you would like to share your life with a wonderful Rottweiler?
