My Story
Meet Raven, a five-month-old Chow Chow puppy.
Raven found herself in rescue when her breeder could not place her due to having Entropion. Entropion is inward rolling of the eyelid margin that causes irritation to the eye due to the lashes rubbing. It is easily surgically corrected. When we got Raven, she already had a pretty significant corneal ulcer due to the Entropion not being corrected sooner. But sweet Raven has been getting the best care and is on the mend. She had her entropion and spay surgery this week and is recovering beautifully. Now we need to find this beautiful girl her home!
Raven is kid, cat, and dog-friendly. She can be shy at first with new people and situations, but we are confident that with time and the right owner to continue to keep her socialized, she will be just fine! Raven is 100% house and crate-trained. She rides great in the car, strapped in her seatbelt.
Currently, she is being fostered in a home with seven other dogs, 3 of them being Chow Chow's. The dogs give her the confidence she needs to adapt to new situations. Because of this, we are requiring her to be adopted into a home with another dog. We are not requiring Chow experience, however we are requiring that extensive research is done on this breed before applying.
Raven really is such a good girl, and we are excited to see her continue to improve and thrive. Now, we just need to find her perfect family!

PLEASE--Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?
Please consider purchasing this book before adopting. Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.
