My Story

Reba is a little under a year old boxer mix that was dumped in the middle of nowhere in Texas in the valley. She was found near the Mexico border. Her foster saw a plea for help and went to pick up Reba and her siblings. Reba was found very thin and malnourished that you were able to see all of her ribs and every bone in her body. Reba was in foster care for 3 days abd ended up showing signs of being sick so the foster took her to vet and was told she was loaded with worms and was put on a dewormer. The vet instructed the foster to feed her small frequent meals to help her build up her weight and start to be healthy again. A week and a half later Reba started to gain weight and got a belly, she was taken back to the vet and they said it was a result of all the worms. So again she was told to watch her stool for worms and if she was still pot bellied in a week to bring her back.. 2 days after Reba had other plans, Reba ended up going into labor and delivering 9 puppies. Her pot belly was due to being pregnant ?. One of her babies were born blue and the Foster worked on her baby for several minutes and got a pulse snd her baby breathing and crying. The foster helped her baby latch on to eat and was doing good. A week later Reba lost her baby out of the blue. He just passed away peacefully. Reba has been nothing but a great mom to her remaining 8 babies. She took very great care of them, but they are now weaned from momma and are 13 weeks old, ready to start their very own journey to their forever homes. Reba has since been spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines and is heart worm negative. Reba is very dog, kid friendly. Reba don't care for cats but tolerates them. She would prefer a home with out cats but can tolerate and share her space with them. Reba is looking for a forever home with a fenced in yard and a family that likes to be active. Reba will do well in a home with another dog friend. Reba is trained to use the potty outside, and is okay in a crate but don't get crated much in her foster home.
