My Story

COMET IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE THROUGH BLACK DOG SECOND CHANCE RESCUE OUT OF AKRON, NY. YOU CAN EMAIL US OR CONTACT BLACK DOG SECOND CHANCE RESCUE AT [email protected] FOR MORE INFORMATION. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SHELTER - THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING COMET. Comet is a man's dog! He's large and intimidating! But, he's a lady's man too, because inside he's really just a cupcake and loves to cuddle. He's also a family dog because he LOVES water. He loves to be sprayed with the hose and stands up on two legs and bites the water. He is the cutest! He would do best with a household with another dog, he just gets along so great with everyone. He would never challenge another dog, ever, and even runs away with his tail tucked between his leg if a yappy little dog tries to bite him. He is the gentlest dog! Comet knows how to sit on command and gives paw. He even gives both paws and sits up on his hind legs. He is a happy go lucky dog who loves to be around people. Poor Comet was surrendered to the local Orleans shelter because they said he was too big. And because the shelter is a rural shelter, and they don't have enough volunteers to update the petfinder site, sadly Comet was going to be euthanized. Well we just couldn't let that happen! So when we got the call, of course our answer was 'yes'. Comet is completely housebroken and good with dogs and people. He is an all around goofy fella. He is neutered and up to date on all of his shots. He tested negative for heartworm, is on heartworm preventative, flea meds, and will come with a free first vet visit to a participating vet of your choice. He looks like a giant black shepherd. Although he is a nice fella, Comet is strong. He has come a long way when working on his leash manners. YOU MUST HAVE A FENCED YARD IN ORDER TO ADOPT COMET. And Comet is available for our foster to adopt program!
