Then look no further than our handsome Riggs, a 2-year-old Shepherd / Catahoula mix. He has an unusual and gorgeous silvery brindle coat streaked with white highlights, white on his chest, and the tiniest bit of white splashed on his front two paws. The most striking aspect of his truly amazing look is his one blue eye (right) and one brown eye! Pictures absolutely do not do this guy justice – he is gorgeous!! Riggs is a medium/large-sized dog weighing about 50 pounds and he has a sweet, fun, and outgoing personality. Riggs was pulled from our local animal shelter where he had been picked up as a stray and no one came to claim him. He is eager to meet new people, and once he knows you are his friend, you will find yourself on the receiving end of lots of love and kisses! Riggs has tons of energy and would be a great hiking buddy. His sweet, friendly, happy-go-lucky disposition makes him easy to be around and he loves to be the recipient of any kind of attention. He is a huge fan of toys, and he loves to be in the yard so he can run and get some of that youthful energy out. He also likes playing with his kennel mate, Duke, and the two of them are of the ‘rough and tumble’ play style. Riggs will need a fenced yard if left outside unattended at all, but he is not to be an outside dog only as he wants to be with those people he loves. Riggs has all the criteria for a wonderful family pet, and he should be great with older children...he might accidently knock over smaller, younger children with his youthful exuberance. He has done fine with the other dogs he has been tested with so far. We have started on his crate training, and Riggs is up to date on his vet care, is heartworm negative, is microchipped, and will be neutered soon. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
