This bright-eyed BRINDLE GOD is nothing short of an athletic, loyal and lovable dog. While it is unclear if he was named after the infamous Brazilian city for his vibrant personality, or for his soccer skills - after Rio Ferdinand. That's right - FETCH IS HIS GAME - he loves anything "ball related." He loves catch, he loves kickball, he loves soccer, he loves running, and he is fast. His agility SHINES when you put a ball near his paws. He turns into a #baller. If you are looking for a self-entertaining dog, all you need to do is give Rio a giggle ball. He honestly needs his own INSTA handle. He is THAT good. He also loves a good round or ten of tug of war but make sure to bring your 'A GAME' as he is slick and will even let you win so you keep playing with him. To be frank, this #boss would do best with a 'loner' (which is a GREAT thing), LOL! Rio definitely needs a human/family who lives a little 'off the grid,' isn't interested in having any other pets/small livestock around and not interested in gatherings involving other dogs. There are so many people that refer to themselves as "animal lovers," indicating they prefer animals to people - well Rio prefers people to any other animal, which many of us in rescue can relate to. Rio LOVES and gravitates towards men but is not aggressive with women. He will do best in a house without kids due to his size and strength. Don't let that scare you - he is an amazing gent, he is just larger and strong. He doubles as a home security system. Not so much but will I tolerate the shenanigans ? YES, I WILL. I would love a fenced in yard, but the fence needs to be taller than my greatest jump. I love to play. I play hard and I crash hard. I play so hard that it may appear that I like to push boundaries and well, if we are being honest, maybe I do. ...Like the rest of living beings, I am very treat/food motivated (I know, my name should be 'Captain Obvious') and I am very smart. With a few treats, you will have me trained to drive you around as your chauffeur in no time. I also smile - yes, you read that correctly. I know you aren't going to believe this, and you may wish to sit down to hear my next statement: I AM HOUSE AND CRATE TRAINED. Yes, your eyes read that correctly. I know there are rescue bios that say that, and it isn't 100% true -- I am 100% house and crate trained. There will be no surprises. I kind of think I am the 'whole package' (Captain Obvious again).
