River came from a trailer park near the San Joaquin that was flooded and their were homeless people with unaltered dogs... this fellow had two litters, River (aka "Brother) was from the older litter... but bit by bit rescues are helping both getting them fixed, and to rescues to find homes!!
River is lovely, clingy, playful, and charming! Learning the ropes, learning about leash walking, (which is helped by his mentor buddy Max!)
Surprisingly he did just fine in foster care and going up and down steep stairs to the yard. Curious and a bit Barky when seeing a cat for the first time but he can learn. He wants to please and to learn about being a happy, well cared for dog in a happy home! A yard and a buddy dog would be ideal. Being alone is not going to be a happy place for him having always been surrounded by dogs... but he can learn. Sweet, sweet boy wanting security and love!
