Meet Roxie the Yorkie Cross 0513 Roxie~born~May 2013 Right now Roxie is at a training center in Roseville, because of issues she’s always had: -She doesn’t like female dogs, and has always started fights with two of mine. -She tries to bite if made to do something she doesn’t want to do. -She’s good in a crate, but has always tried to bite when someone closes or opens the crate door. -Hence, her getting training. We need to require mandatory follow-up training for anyone that adopts her, so that she doesn’t revert back to her old ways. That will likely cost a couple hundred dollars at the training center she’s at. They also do house calls. She is doing well with her training, and letting people pick her up and getting along with the other dogs at the facility. She doesn’t play with the other dogs, but she ignores them and that’s what we want so that’s good. Occasionally she will still bite or snip if she is sleeping and someone tries to wake her up to make her go outside, but they are having different people pick her up and hold her etc. and she’s doing really well. Roxie’s trainers suggest we keep her muzzled at any initial introductions, so she would be muzzled for the introduction just while she gets to know you. Roxie needs to be adopted by someone who is experienced with a dog like her. She can be really sweet and loving when she wants to be. She loves going for walks, she loves cuddles on the couch. But when other people are around and when she’s being walked, she would have to be muzzled until the training center feels that it isn’t necessary. _____ The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip!
