Roxy spent her whole life as a breeding dog for greedy backyard breeders who cared nothing about her only the profit they would make "From her!"
When Roxy became to old to breed anymore, they dumped her in a high kill shelter . Due to very limited resources and even more limited space , Roxy was scheduled to be put to death in a gas box on the day Mountain Rottie Rescue pulled her . When we saw her sad pictures & heard her story, we could not turn away!
Roxy was so dirty and infested with hundreds of fleas that she required 7 baths to get the filth off of her & to rid her of her flea infestation. When we took Roxy to the Vet, we were sadly told that she also suffers from Heartworms & an irregular heartbeat , probably due to the heartworms . Now we are raising the funds to give Roxy the heartworm treatment she requires, through all of the hardship this SR girl has had to endure for all of her life, she is as sweet as GA Pecan Pie! Roxy is not quite ready for adoption and it will be several months before her Heartworm treatment is complete but we are asking for sponsors to help with her care as we did not expect her costly medical expense.
