My Story

Samson came to BHRG from Murray County Animal Control. He is a beautiful, mostly black tri-colored boy who is 3 years old. He is up-to-date on his shots and is recovering from kennel cough. Once he's healthy, he will undergo neuter surgery. Samson has eyelashes that are turned inward causing him eye infections, so he'll also have surgery to correct this problem. He is a handsome fellow who gets along with other dogs and knows how to use the dog door. Samson is sure that he's still a little puppy, even though he's a really big boy. He was a wonderful puppy-sitter for Delilah's pups, romping and tussling around in the yard for hours - probably because he thought he was one of the litter. He's a frisky fella who wants to play 24/7. The only time he barks is when he wants his foster brother/sisters to play with him and they're ignoring him. Then he wails like a siren and cries. As soon as wrestlemania starts up again, he's in heaven! Samson does not know how to beg for people-food, and seems shocked and grateful when he gets treats. He's a wonderful lover who wants to be brushed for as long as you're willing to do it. He's a bit scrawny, but is a big eater and drinker. As long as he is taken out right before bed he can hold it through the night. On the few nights he can't, he's polite enough to always wet on the linoleum and never the carpet. He does use a dog-door all day long, but seems very reluctant to go out by himself after dark. Samsom is very strong but doesn't know it. He's submissive to all other dogs, but absolutely must have another playful dog in his forever home. As long as he has companionship and a chew-toy, he's a great dog, just very energetic.
