My Story

Sandi is a young Great Pyrenees. She is no older than a year, according to our veterinarian. She came in as an owner relinquishment with Nano. Poor Sandi was in AWFUL shape. We sent her to Dr. Dorsey because she had hot spots all over as well as the most matted fur of any dog to come to the shelter since my attendance here (08/29/2005). They completely shaved her. In fact, Sandi's fur was so matted that her tail was stuck to her hind end. It is evident she attempted detaching her tail in order to defecate or urinate. It was so sad. She looks much better now after a shot of a steroid as well as 10 days of a heavy duty antibiotic. She is very thin for a Pyrenees and is gaining weight slowly. Sandi adores other dogs as well as constant attention if you are willing to give it. She is only about 75 pounds now, which is much lighter in weight than she should be for a year old Pyrenees. She needs some extra special TLC!!
