Screech

Meet Screech! He's not particularly fond of his name, but he's learned to live with it. We fondly call him Screechy Peachy. He's an exuberant boy, filled with excitement at the prospect of meeting new people and bringing them joy. Whenever he spots someone passing by his kennel, he immediately assumes they're there to see him, initiating his happy dance. In reality, all he wants is to greet them properly with paw shakes and head pats. Having only lived for two years and lacking extensive interaction with people or other dogs, his exuberance might be attributed to his limited experience. Nevertheless, it all stems from a place of pure enthusiasm. Screech seeks someone who will shower him with attention and aid in his training endeavors. Additionally, he prefers someone who shares his disdain for cats. Described as highly intelligent by those around him, Screechy Peachy is eager to put his sharp mind to good use. Will you be the one to give him the opportunity he's been waiting for? Update from Screech! 4/10/24: I've been with my Foster Family for one month (Boarding School) and I've learned so much! I've been a very good boy in the house and I can't wait to meet my Forever Family! Things I've learned: I can ride well in a car and like walking on a leash. I also love my doggie door! I sleep well at night on my pillow behind a baby gate. I don't need a crate! I only get on furniture if invited, but I want to be on someone's lap ALL THE TIME! I'm just a big lap dog/weighted blanket! I'm very, very affectionate! I am not destructive - I have only chewed one pencil (it was on the floor) I'm not a resource guarder, I take all my pills and treats very gently and I'm not food motivated. I like to play ball and will let you take it from me, if you can catch me! I'm learning how to drop it so you can throw it again. My ear flaps and wagging tail are very loud, and I love to have my belly scratched. I love to watch birds outside, but I get excited and want to chase squirrels. I'm pretty quiet and only bark at people outside my fence. But once they come inside, I'm friendly. But I don't like cats. Things I need to work on as I mature: I don't like rain, but I've tolerated a bath. I jump when I'm excited, so you need to help me learn to settle down. I don't like the dust buster, Swiffer, or the noise of the blender. But I don't react to the doorbell or tornado siren! I really just need a nice yard and a big lap and I'll be happy at your house!
