Socks is a stunning young pup with the most adorable nose freckles and polka-dot socks on all four paws! Not only is he uniquely handsome, he’s a sweet mild-mannered dog who loves to play. He is treat-motivated and the only thing he likes more than treats is you loving on him! Socks came into rescue with his five brothers, and all of them have young dog energy, enjoying an active lifestyle full of play and adventure. They are half Cattle Dog, half Great Pyrenees, and 100% Good Boys! Socks is learning to walk on leash, and barks only to alert. He’s great with dogs and has been non-reactive to the cats he’s seen. Socks is a happy fella who craves attention, so be sure to keep at least one hand free for giving belly rubs to this super-soft sweetie! He also loves to go exploring, enjoying hikes through the woods, chasing squirrels, and playing at the beach! He’s developed quite the fondness for water and is an excellent swimmer, paddling down the river like a pro! Socks enjoys healthy food options to go along with his active lifestyle, and has a fondness for strawberries and full balls of cabbage. Socks’s ideal home will be with an active family with a canine sibling or two for him to play with. This affectionate boy is friendly with everyone he meets, and he is so looking forward to the day he gets to meet his furever family!

Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
