Although Spike looks serious, he has an amazing "doggy grin" that lights up his face when he sees people. He is comfortable wandering around the yard as long as he can return and snuggle with his human. At 69 pounds, that is a lot of snuggling! He has many learned behavior cues which he loves to show off.
Spike loves to be with people much more than other animals. Although he can comfortably walk by other dogs, he would need be the only animal in the house. He also loves to be brushed and will happily sit at your feet while he is being groomed.
Spike is a mature boy that is looking for a home that would appreciate his quirky outlook on life.
The shelter has an appointment only policy. We ask potential adopters to fill out our application, prior to a scheduled meeting. The staff is very accommodating, and we welcome any inquires.
