Stevie

Stevie is a 2 year old, 9.5 lb chihuahua & rat terrier mix with a slight underbit. He is very sweet, housetrained, uses the doggie dog, and knows some basic commands. He is very happy and enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home.

Stevie was rescued from the local animal shelter and taken immediately to our veterinary since he had a severe puncture wound that pierced his trachea. He appears to be healing on his own with antibiotics (and the good care given while in the shelter), which means he should not have to have surgery to patch the hole in his trachea. After he is given a clean bill of health by the vet, he will be neutered and receive his vaccinations which should be around mid-September, 2004. It seems the attack may have caused slight damage to one eye, but the vet says that isn’t a problem as he can see just fine. PAWS of Austin will be responsible for ensuring that Stevie is fully vetted once he is healthy so don’t let that stop you from meeting this little sweetheart. He is very well mannered and friendly to everyone he meets ---- both people and dogs.
