Sutherland

Sutherland is about 5 years old and weighs 80 pounds. Sutherland came into our rescue from Animal Control. Sutherland and another dog were abandoned. Sutherland was locked inside with no food and water. The other was outside no food or water. Neighbor said owner had left a week ago, so she wound up in Animal Control. Her right ear has scar tissue and and a thickened right ear from the scar tissue. This happens when a dog is not treated for ear infections and shakes their head a lot. Since coming into our rescue, she has been treated by out vet with prednisone and ear meds. She is no longer shaking her head and is doing very well. She also had some fly bites on her ears, so must have been kept outside at one point. Because no one was stepping up for her, they were going to euthanize her. What a shame that would have been. She is such a wonderful girl, full of love. She is great with other dogs and children. She is a real doll and deserves a loving furever home. One of the AC employees just loved her and nothing but good things to say about her. She is easygoing and just wants to have a home of her own. You could not ask for a better companion. When the foster took her for a meet and greet for the first time, she was being protective of foster and sat by foster and was afraid to interact. If she has another meet and greet, she will need some time to adjust without foster mom present. When she warms up, she is very affectionate, she is great in her kennel and loves to be petted.
