Teddy was in a kill shelter and his time was up. A nice lady living near the shelter rescued him but could not keep him. So now the Waverly Pet Rescue has taken him in and he lives in a foster home. He is up to date on all of his shots, heartworm negative, and neutered.
Teddy is about 1-1/2-years-old. Teddy is very friendly! Loves to be with the people! He is not completely housebroke but is very smart and should not take long to train. He already knows sit and stay! We were told he is food aggressive with other dogs, and that he doesn't like some other dogs and will fight (we do not have other pets so I cannot judge either of those) he does not beg for table food other than looking at you until told to go lay down. He will go fetch a ball but does not bring it back all the time. He will jump on new people but gets down right away when told, we are working on this. He would be fine with children with supervision at first (only because of his jumping). We have played roughly with him and pulled on his ears and tail and got absolutely NO aggressive response. He likes to lick toes, and is sometimes insistent on being petted. We have not seen any inappropriet chewing, except the blanket in the kennel. (which may have just been because of the smell of previous dog) Teddy is a sweetheart, he looks like a cross between a Teddy Bear and a Lion, he has a mane like ring of long hair on part of his back and chest. He has a lot of energy and would do best with either a fenced yard or someone to take him on long walks. I suspect he might be a digger, but we have never left him outside off of the leash.
He does well if taken outside about every four hours through the day, but can make it through the night in the kennel. He still jumps on visitors, but is doing better.
He did get off the leash a couple nights ago, but by the time I got in the truck and drove around for 5-10 minutes he had returned home.
Will someone please adopt Teddy and give him a forever home? 75.00 adoption fee. (we have put triple this amount into savinbg Teddy from all the vet care to boarding fees, etc, etc)

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501 C 3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter yet. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to Email Waverly Pet Rescue at the bottom of this page. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
