Tessa is an almost 1 year old Boxer-Shih Tzu. You did read that correctly. Mom was a Shih Tzu and Dad was a Boxer and this is what happens when you have an unaltered female and male in the house....One of our groomers lives next door to this family and Tessa was one of the litter that they kept and now at almost a year, they decided to buy another puppy and give away Tessa. Our beautiful, 25-30lbs girl is so sweet and loving. She's on the shy side initially. Her first day in the foster home she was shy and reserved. It took her about 36 hours to really start coming out of her shell. We expect the same will happen with her new family.
Tessa gets along well with other dogs. She's very quiet, gentle and loving. She can be puppy like and chew on things, so she needs some good chew toys and kongs to keep her busy. She also needs a home that wants to keep her inside and not leave her outside as a yard ornament as she was previously. We threw open the doors and told her she was welcome inside and boy, does she feel like a Princess now.
Tessa could go with older children who won't be disappointed when she is initially shy and reserved with them. Give her a few days and she'll be outside playing ball and enjoying life in a new home.
