My Story

ADOPTED!--Who can resist this sweet face? This is what some people refer to as a Puggle. But really, a rose by any other name is a still a rose. Same is true for Thomas. Thomas is a Pug-Beagle mix. Please look at his darling face and tell us that you don't see pure love. By any other name, Thomas IS love! This little guy was rescued from an Amish puppy mill where he lived 24/7 in a dark barn, never receiving any love or attention. But Thomas is a "survivor" so--fortunately--he didn't suffer any long-lasting emotional trauma from his early life. He is a very clean, polite, HAPPY little guy! He is fine with cats and other dogs--but his favorite place to be is snuggling close to his human "mom" or "dad". Tommy is a little afraid of new and scary situations and loud noises, so we would prefer not to adopt him to a family with small children. Thomas is two years old and--with access to a doggie door into our fenced yard--he appears to be housebroken. Thomas would enjoy a safely fenced yard (no invisible fencing, please) but a fenced yard is not necessarily required. We don't feel tie-outs are safe, though, so he would need to be leash walked several times a day if he didn't have a fenced yard to exercise in. (As you can see, at 30 lbs. he could stand to lose a pound or two!) Because he is a people-lover, we don't want Thomas to be a "latchkey" dog, so an adopter who works out of his/her home, is retired, or works just part time would be ideal for him. Tommy is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and up to date and shots, and his adoption fee is $250.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
