My Story

Titan. Oh, where to begin. Titan was eluding us for a couple of weeks before we sent a female officer out and he took to her and we were able to catch him. He was on a rarely traveled road curled up as close to the roadway as he could be. Passing cars didn't bother him. He continued to lose weight until we caught him. He is going to be a BIG boxer with all his weight back on. He weighed 65 lbs upon intake and I can easily see him weighing 80-85 lbs when back in his best shape. He has cropped ears and a docked tail and is probably 6-9 years of age judging by his teeth. He is a well behaved fellow who acts housebroken. He does great on lead. He's not exuberant. He's also doesn't have the typical guard dog boxer bark, so if you're looking for someone to scare someone away, this guy won't be able to do that with his bark. He sounds like a chihuahua when he does bark, poor guy. Anyways, come and see Titan. He does have skin tags and maybe some other issues that will need veterinary attention. Looks like he had an ankle that was broken and rehealed slightly improperly. He also had ticks (gave him a bath). He is scarred up pretty bad from who knows what along his ribcage and on the back of his head. But, we love him just the way he is! Come and check him out! He will need a special family. Adopting a dog from the Conway Animal Welfare Unit is a fairly easy process. The first step to adopting an animal is submitting an application. The application allows us to individually consider applicants and helps us to properly match our pets with new owners. We want to make sure that our pets are going to homes that are ready to provide for these pets long-term. If you are a city of Conway resident, our adoption fee is $20. Your adoption will come with a voucher that will allow you to have the pet spayed or neutered (this is a REQUIREMENT of adoption). The voucher is worth $120, any costs associated with the surgery that exceeds this price is the new adopter's responsibility. As with any shelter animals, health is not guaranteed but we do our best to screen out those animals that are showing obvious signs of illness or disclose that information prior to adoption. All dogs are heartworm tested upon adoption.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and you reside OUTSIDE the city limits of Conway, the cost is $70 which includes a spay/neuter. The spay and neuter can only be performed at Vilonia Vet Clinic or Mayflower Vet Clinic. The other option is that you provide us with proof of a pre-paid spay or neuter at YOUR vet of choice. That is the only option for those who are out of state or out of area.
