My Story

"Hi there, I'm Toby and I'm pleased to meet you, actually, I'm pleased to meet everyone! I am one of the big (80#) black handsome dogs. I am a Lab as you can tell, but what you don’t know is I am swell. I sit and lay and play ball too. I even give you kisses if you want me too. I am around a year old and am full of energy. I was left behind by some summer visitors to the area last year and these really nice people took me in. They have done everything for me and I'm a happy, healthy fellow and pretty well behaved too. They would love to keep me, but there is one problem and I'm sorry, but I just can't help myself. It's the cats. I just have to give into that temptation and torment them and I know, that's no life for them to have. Since they were here first, we've all decided that it would be best for me to find a cat free home. Now, if it's another dog you have, I would be DELIGHTED! I got to spend the day at the Rescue for the open house so people could meet me and it was great; I met all kinds of dogs oh, and people too. There were some little kids that came to play with me, so I wouldn’t mind having some of them in my new home to run around with me. It was so much fun. So I guess what I'm saying is, if you are looking for a new companion, if you love Labs and you don't have a cat, I'll bet you'll really like me. I'm staying in my current home until I find a new home, so you will have to call to make an appointment to meet me. Hey,don’t make me beg, I promise I won’t disappoint you, cause I'm ready to play!" If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application. This avoids the disappointment of someone else has "beating you to it" because they were pre-approved. Processing an application does not take us very long but we do insist that all potential adopters are approved before placing a dog. Applying is very simple. Just log on to our website at Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue and select Adopt a Dog from the menu on the left side of the homepage. Just above the photo gallery you will see Adoption Application giving you a choice of 2 formats. Select one of these and complete the information requested, then save it as a file and e mail it to us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours of sending your application, please call us at 716/326-PAWS. And be sure to check out all the dogs and puppies eagerly awaiting homes.
