Four to five month old Tosco, a little yellow Lab, was found exploring the countryside with his two brothers with their chaperon nowhere to be found. This adventuresome trio may have been unwanted and abandoned to fend for themselves. Fortunately before harm could come to these little ones, they were taken to a shelter and we were called to their rescue.
Tosco, who weighs about 29 pounds, has nose as black as a licorice button! Sweet, wiggly, bouncy and playful he's all a baby Lab can be. He's just starting to get a few adult teeth and learning to be a very good boy in his foster home. Out on a walk his foster mom introduced him to the water: "His eyes were as big as saucers when he stepped in!"
Puppies, while adorable, are not for everyone. Think carefully if your lifestyle has room for the extraordinary responsibility of raising a puppy. Do you truly have time for the daily nurturing and constant supervision required? Do you mind piddles on your floor, chewing on your things and, before you know it, a “teenage puppy” with ideas of his own? The proper handling and socialization of a puppy are critical to their development into a well adjusted adult. As Tosco grows he will require your steady, kind leadership, commitment to his training and rely on you for his extensive daily exercise needs.
If you would like Tosco, a “dog to be”, to consider your application, please tell us why your home would be suitable for a puppy in the comments section of your application.
Tosco will only be placed in a home with (1) adults or older children who can treat a dog with kindness and respect and (2) one that clearly has the dedication and substantial time throughout the day to devote to raising a puppy to responsible adulthood.
In addition to the adoption fee, there is a required $200 neuter deposit refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. You will be required to sign an Adoption Agreement.
