Will-o is the "runt" of a litter of puppies we named the Darling Buds of May. Born to a beautiful dog we have named Rose, the "Buds" have been raised in foster care since the age of 4 weeks, when this valiant family was discovered living in an old abandoned dog house in rural West Virginia.
Will-o, the tiniest of the group (he was 7 1/2 pounds at 8 weeks of age), is a fuzzy, tan colored fellow with a winsome face and sparkling eyes.
As the smallest in his roly-poly sibling group, Will-o has always tried the hardest, and as a result, this effortful Bud of least stature has developed a personality of vast proportion. He is unabashedly affectionate, and tumbles about with his brothers and sister with great abandon.
His enjoyment of puppy pursuits is huge, and Will-o seems to be enhanced by a very happy imagination - whether he is bravely stalking wild beasts through the blades of grass in the back yard, or racing from a wild tornado when he hurtles into his foster mom's lap for cuddling - he is a joyful and dear puppy.
He eats with gusto, and loves for his round little tummy to be rubbed. He has an open and direct gaze that is filled with trust. He has known nothing but love in his foster home, and has received wonderful socialization with his human family that includes children and other dogs. With so many opportunities to be loved and celebrated, Will-o has become an expert on snuggling and kisses, and he is truly an overtly affectionate puppy.
We do not know much about Will-o's breeding - his mom appears to be mostly border collie - and except for his intelligent, warm brown eyes, Will-o looks nothing like her. But he is very content to be a little brown mutt, and would fill a home with love and laughter.
